| make a point - especially in response to the 1200hp comment. In fact, the same theory could be applied to a 4 cyl quad turbo (again, an extreme example to help illustrate a point). If it produced 1200hp, the best purpose for that engine/vehicle would be at the drag strip. The basis of my comments are rooted in the necessary reliablity and refinement that makes the car suitable as a daily driver. I completely agree that there are points inbetween the extremes where a V-8 is not a bad application. I do not dislike V-8's by the way. But having said that, something doesn't quite click when I hear the rumble of a V-8 when I'm expecting the sound of a 6 cylinder when it comes to a Z. On the other hand, a Camaro or Mustang (old or new) doesn't sound right unless it has a V-8. Then again, if I was inclined to do a V-8 in a Z, I would follow along the lines of what SpeedyZX said and look at the 4.5 motor from the Q45 or the 5.6 motor from the Titan. Just for the challenge of keeping it in the Nissan family. Thanks for the discussion. Dave
